31 Jul McGill Ridge Kamloops Apartment Community Update
There is a lot of demand for new Kamloops apartment rentals that are in desirable, centrally-located neighbourhoods with easy access to services, shopping, restaurants, transit, and the rest of the city. The development of McGill Ridge helps meet that demand. In early 2022, the third and final building of our apartment community will be completed, adding 64 apartments to the rental market. Construction on the final building was delayed by the pandemic but is back on track and taking shape!
The following is an update about what’s happening at McGill Ridge Apartments.
McGill Ridge Construction
Phase 1: Selkirk and Monashee Buildings
Status: complete and currently renting.
Number of apartments: 102.
Apartments: studio, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom plus study, 2 bedroom.
Selkirk building address: 891 McGill Road, Kamloops, BC.
Monashee building address: 877 McGill Road, Kamloops, BC.
Phase 2: Purcell Building
Status: under construction. Roof recently installed and units are being drywalled.
Number of apartments: 64.
Apartments: studio, 1 bedroom.
Purcell building address: 863 McGill Road, Kamloops, BC.
As you can see, by the time the Purcell building is complete, our Kamloops apartment community will offer a total of 166 rentals.

COVID-19 Precautions Update
While social distancing and mask mandates have been relaxed by the province, out of caution, we are recommending that our tenants continue to socially distance, and wear masks in common areas. McGill Ridge has always had a thorough sanitization and cleaning regimen and implemented all COVID-19 safety protocols required by the province. Those protocols were relaxed in Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan (which began July 1/2021). Nonetheless, we continue to use a strict cleaning regimen including the daily sanitization of all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, building entry panels, and elevator buttons. We also have sanitizer available at building entrances and will have a sanitizer station in the fitness centre.
On August 15, 2021, we plan on reopening the fitness centre and barbecue areas. In preparation, we’re maintaining and testing exercise equipment and barbecues to ensure they are in good working order after being idle for over a year.
The safety of our tenants, employees and visitors to the building is important and we’ll continue to follow guidance from the Office of the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafeBC.
